Cloned objects incorrectly attaching hierarchical relationships

Question/Problem Description
Creating records based on a template incorrectly deattach related records from the source and attaches to the newly create cloned record when an object contains hierarchical relationship.
Steps to Reproduce1- Create 2 objects (i.e objectA and objectB)
2- Set relationship objectA 1:M objectB
3- Set a hierarchical relationship on objectB
4- Create 3 records on objectB (i.e recordB1, recordB2 and recordB3)
5- Attach recordB2 and recordB3 to recordB1 as child record
6- Create recordA1 on ObjectA and attach recordB1.
7- Create a record template for recordA on objectA
8- Create a new record using the newly template (i.e recordA2)

Note that recordB2 and recordB3 were not duplicated, but attached to the new record (recordA2) and deattached from recordA1.
