Question/Problem Description
If a field is removed from a form, can that field's data not be removed from the database? 
When a field is deleted from a form, its associated data is also deleted from the database.
How can we prevent a field's data to be deleted from the database, eventhough the field is deleted from the backend?
Is it possible to retain a deleted field's data in the database?

Resolution
When the field is deleted in the backend, its associated data is also expected to be deleted from the database to avoid any orphan records issue.
Workaround
Prior to deleting the field, the new one can be dropped/placed. 
Now the data could be migrated from the old field to new one.
