Question/Problem Description
AppServer shuts down with error 8046.

AppServer server log reports:

accept() on port <portNum> is interrupted: java.net.SocketException: Too many open files : Too many open files (8046)

Java exception reads:

System logs show entries similar to the following on/around the same time as the AppServer error occurs:

Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
Error Messageaccept() on port 3050 is interrupted: java.net.SocketException: Too many open files : Too many open files (8046)
Defect/Enhancement Number
Cause
Attempting to exceed the limit for O/S file descriptors that the process can open.
Resolution
1.  Increase number of files for the user process:

   ulimit -n <somevalue>

2.  Restart the AdminServer and brokers to detect new setting.
