The wrong port number is used resulting in the SQL client attempting to connect to the broker that only accepts 4GL connections.
Resolution
  1. Make sure that a SQL broker has been started.
  2. Use the SQL broker port to connect ODBC and JDBC clients to the database.
  3. If using a service name, make sure that the name is in the /etc/services file.
  4. Use the correct port from the SQL client.
