Clarifying Information
Error MessageFailure reading response from Application Server. (14810)
ERROR: No servers available. (8089)
Application server connect failure. (5468)
Defect/Enhancement Number
Cause
PASOE has been deployed in Production with default values for the following properties:
maxABLSessionsPerAgent
maxAgents
maxConnectionsPerAgent
numInitialAgents

Resolution
Adjust the PASOE production instance according to requirements. It’s not recommendable to deploy PASOE with the default values for properties in Production, specially the following:

maxABLSessionsPerAgent
maxAgents
maxConnectionsPerAgent
numInitialAgents

The default database connection values defined in the file openedge.properties for OpenEdge 11.7 are for example:

[AppServer.SessMgr]
...
maxABLSessionsPerAgent=200
maxAgents=10

which means the following maximum amount of connections to the database:
200 x 10 = 2000 connections to the database when all connections to the database are made in shared memory mode
100 x 10 + 10 = 2010 connections to the database when all connections to the database are made using network connections

In article 000072820 there is a whitepaper, which describes topics and best practices for moving to a production environment.
