SQLcancel command hangs indefinitely with the Connect for ODBC Greenplum driver.
SQLcancel command hangs indefinitely with the Connect for ODBC PostgreSQL driver.
Steps to Reproduce- Connect to a Greenplum database on a VM.
- Start a very long running query.
- Pause the VM while the query is running
- Run SQLCancel on the query
Clarifying Information
The database is running on a VM and the VM is paused while the application is running.
Error Message
Defect/Enhancement Number
Cause
When the VM is in a paused state the database is not receiving or responding to the SQLCancel request.
Resolution
Some drivers have a connection parameter "CancelDetectInterval" to force a SQLCancel operation even when the database does not respond. The PostgreSQL and Greenplum drivers do not have this feature.

This would be considered a driver enhancent. For information on how to open a driver enhancemnet (Idea) refer to KB artcile "How to submit an idea for a Progress product enhancement"
