Defect/Enhancement Number
Cause

This is expected behavior.  The MULTIPLE attribute is a BROWSE feature that needs to be set before the BROWSE widget is realized.  This means either DISPLAYed, ENABLEd, VIEWed or otherwise made VISIBLE.

Resolution

Set the MULTIPLE attribute before the BROWSE widget has been realized, like in the below example:

DEFINE TEMP-TABLE ttTest
    FIELD f1 AS INTEGER
    FIELD f2 AS CHARACTER.

DEFINE QUERY q FOR ttTest SCROLLING.

DEFINE BROWSE b QUERY q
    DISPLAY f1 f2
    WITH 5 DOWN.

DEFINE FRAME f b.

OPEN QUERY q FOR EACH ttTest.

BROWSE b:MULTIPLE = TRUE.

ENABLE ALL WITH FRAME f.

WAIT-FOR CLOSE OF THIS-PROCEDURE.
