SQL Explorer is a Java-based tool used to execute OpenEdge SQL statements interactively.

It is not intended for building applications, or to accomplish heavy-duty maintenance.

The tool should primarily be used to view records in a database using SQL commands. It can also be used for minor database maintenance, administrative tasks, and testing SQL queries.

Progress 9.x and OpenEdge 10.0B or earlier, both a GUI and Character version exist. The GUI version is only available on the Windows platform.

In OpenEdge 10.1A the GUI interface was removed. The character version is still available.
