This Knowledge Base Article acts as a central hub for MOVEit Automation and MOVEit Transfer upgrades and migrations.  Please select the situation below that most accurately fits your situation.

If you are performing a migration from a version that is outside of the bounds of the linked chart below, have a webfarm, or use Ipswitch Failover, we highly recommend engaging our Professional Services team. The first step in pursuing an upgrade and migration project with PS is to obtain a pricing quote for PS assistance by contacting your account representative.

Product Support Lifecycle

We especially recommend contacting Professional Services if you have any of the following scenarios:
-Failover/Webfarm/Neverfail
-Your version falls beyond the oldest version documented as part of the noted upgrade path

General recommendations and information for all upgrades and/or migrations:
- TEST.  When possible, please test all major changes or upgrades in a test scenario.  This greatly helps to reduce possible production issues when your upgrade or migration goes live.
- Take backups of the server, or VM, and the database before upgrading and/or migrating.  This is the easiest way to be able to roll back in case of a failed upgrade.
- Technical support is not able to provide a step-by-step walk-through of the guides below, we can only provide them. For more detailed assistance, please see our Professional Services information above.
