Resolution
It's not possible to select a given directory where the core, procore and protrace files will be created.

The core, procore and protrace files are created in the directory where the failing process was started from.

For example:

When a client session is started in a sub-directory of the Progress working directory, and the client dies:
  • The generated core, procore and protrace files will be created in that sub-directory, where the Progress client was started from if that client has write permissions.
The same is valid for Broker and Server processes:
  • Typically these are started from the "working directory" defined at OpenEdge install time ($WRKDIR), otherwise the directory wherever the Broker process is started will be where the core, procore and protrace files are found.
